On 23 August 2018 the public hearing to present potential environmental impacts of 150 MW Dnistrovskaya wind power plant were successfully held in 5 villages in Belgorod-Dmistrovskiy district, Odessa region. Local residents, representatives from the UWEA, a project development company and a company that conducted environmental impacts assessment participated in the events.
Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, presented the current state of wind energy sector in Ukraine and worldwide. The participants had the opportunity to see a film about modern wind power plants commissioned in Ukraine in the past 5 years, produced at the request of the UWEA.
Construction of the first wind power plant in Odessa region - Ovid Wind 1 with installed capacity of 32.4 MW is being continued. The project is implemented by the Turkish company Güriş Inşaat ve Muhendislik A. Ş., a member of Güriş group of companies.
