JOINT MEMORANDUM ON THE ORGANIZATION OF WIND TURBINES MANUFACTURE IN UKRAINE

On 18 July, 2019 in Kiev, the State Enterprise Production Association Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov, the State Enterprise Plant Electrotyazhmash, WIND FARM LLC and the German company Fuhrländer International Sustainable Business Management signed a Memorandum of Intent on Cooperation.

WIND FARM has been implementing a wind project in the Nikol and Mangush districts of the Donetsk region with a total installed capacity of 800 MW. It is determinative that WIND FARM supports domestic production of wind power equipment and began to cooperate with all parties who will be involved in establishing local wind turbine manufacture in Ukraine.

“The capacity of a new project is sufficient to form orders portfolio for establishing wind turbine manufacture in Ukraine. This approach opens up new opportunities for the wind energy sector development within the new policy framework in our country”, underlined Yury Zhabsky, WIND FARM Director and the UWEA Board Member.

Ukrainian enterprises will be involved in the production of WTG components. The SE Plant Elektrotyazhmash - in the production of generators while SE PA Yuzhmash - in the production of towers, blades and gondolas of future wind turbines. Joachim Fuhrländer, founder of Furhländer International Sustainable Business Management with his vast experience in the organization of local WTG manufacture in many countries of the world, such as Germany, Portugal, Brazil, China, Japan, Vietnam, Ukraine, will provide consulting and organizational support for the project.

“Further cooperation of the project parties will give a powerful impetus to the development of the Ukrainian machine-building industry, create hundreds of new jobs, promote investments in the Donetsk region and strengthen energy independence of Ukraine”, said Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, WWEA Vice-President.
