UKRAINIAN-DANISH ENERGY CENTRE TO FACILITATE ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN UKRAINE

On 12 December 2016 Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine published its press release devoted to the implementation of the Project "Ukrainian-Danish Energy Centre". The UWEA is pleased to advise that RE experts form Denmark including specialists from Danish Technological University, Energy Agency of Denmark will contribute to creating a sophisticated hourly wind power forecasting system in Ukraine. It will improve the planning of wind power delivery to the energy system of Ukraine."

The UWEA has proposed the following activities to be carried out in the framework of the Project:

  • to develop a methodology for forecasting RE electricity generation, including wind energy;
  • to develop and implement software and hardware for the prediction of wind speed and wind power output at the wind power plants. 

The UWEA also initiates establishing an accounting-analytical centre or Ukrainian-Danish joint venture to provide market participants with RE generation forecasting services based on quality data.
