After a long and forced pause caused first by the COVID-19 pandemic and then by the devastating full-scale war launched by Russia against Ukraine, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) returns with an initiative of extraordinary importance — the first major in-person forum dedicated to the present and future of Ukrainian wind energy.
The full-scale war has not only redrawn geopolitical borders but fundamentally redefined the global discourse on energy security, resilience, and independence. As Ukraine’s critical infrastructure remains under constant targeted attack, renewable energy — and wind energy in particular — has emerged not only as a strategically sound solution, but also as a symbol of resistance, hope, and self-reliance.
As a fuel-independent source of electricity, wind power holds the potential to become the backbone of a new, decentralized, and secure Ukrainian energy system. Its advancement is no longer merely a question of environmental commitment — it is a national security imperative. Yet, this dynamic sector urgently requires bold partnerships, long-term financial instruments, bankable solutions, and the proactive engagement of international investors, financial institutions, and development agencies.
That is why on September 9–10, 2025, in the city of Lviv, Ukraine, UWEA will host the Ukrainian Wind Energy Forum 2025 - a high-level strategic platform and investment hub, bringing together banks, investment funds, government officials, developers, donors, energy traders, and service providers. All are united by a common vision: to transform today’s crisis into a new frontier for clean energy investment.
A Forum Divided into Two Power-Packed Days:
Day One - September 9 - will be devoted to a series of deep-dive thematic sessions, addressing:
A special segment will highlight real case studies of successful investments in Ukrainian wind farms during wartime, along with the presentation of new projects already at the implementation-ready stage.
Day Two - September 10 - will take participants to the heart of Ukraine’s energy resilience: wind turbines installed and commissioned amid full-scale war, without compromising on quality, safety, or operational excellence. Delegates will choose between two technical site visits: Skolivska Wind Power Plant, located in the Lviv region and operated by Eco-Optima LLC; or Ostrovskyi Wind Park, located in the Zakarpattia region and developed by Wind Parks of Ukraine LLC. Both sites are located in scenic mountainous terrain - and both serve as practical proof that investing in Ukrainian wind is not only possible but already happening.
The Forum has already gained strong support from WindEurope, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and leading companies and financial institutions from across the industry. This year’s General Partner is Danish wind energy leader Vestas. The first Strategic Partner is Ukrainian logistics provider TAD. Other confirmed Forum partners include Wind Parks of Ukraine LLC, Norwegian developer Emergy, and Ukrainian MCL Group.
Confirmed speakers already represent both public, private and financial sectors — including Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, OKKO Group, Vitagro, LCF Group, Voltage Group, Oschadbank, and the EBRD. The Forum will also welcome Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, as an honored guest and speaker. The list of speakers is constantly being updated.
We express our sincere gratitude to all our current partners and warmly invite other national and international stakeholders to become part of this collective effort to shape Ukraine’s new energy landscape.
We welcome media representatives to apply for accreditation and encourage all interested parties to register and begin planning their visit to this landmark event.
