The Nordex Group was founded in 1985 in Denmark. In two years, the company installed the largest series of wind turbine in the world at that time. In 1992, the Nordex Group established production operations in Germany and received the title of a German manufacturer. In April 2016, two well-known actors in wind energy business, Nordex and Acciona Windpower merged and became one company.
The Nordex Group has succeeded in building reliable machines, which operate with ever-increasing efficiency. Moreover, it sets new standards with several of innovative products: the entry into the megawatt class in 1995 and the development of the first wind turbine with a capacity of 2.5 MW in 2000 are just two examples of this.
Now the Nordex Group is a global wind turbine manufacturer of wind energy systems with a focus on turbines in the Multi-MW class (2.4/2.5/3.0/3.3/3.6/3.9 MW). The Nordex Group headquartered in Hamburg and its production network is comprised of plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil and United States. Global sales and service network is in 32 countries together with more than 5000 employees.
