wpd is an international company with head office in Germany that is actively shaping the energy transition in more and more countries around the world.
Founded as a two-man company in Bremen in 1996, wpd grew up together with the wind industry. We are now a globally active developer and operator of wind farms and of solar parks as well. We are playing a pivotal role in converting energy supplies and contributing towards protecting our climate.
Our 4,000 employees are working committedly in 31 countries and can fall back on their experience gained from setting up 2,750 turbines with an output of 6,670 MW.
Ahead of them lie projects amounting to a further 19,320 megawatts – a challenge that all those involved approach with high motivation and the conviction that they will master it just as successfully as the others before.
Our long-term expertise allows us to implement all project stages from site evaluation, wind measurements to finance and sustainable operation of wind farm or solar plant.
The company’s largest projects were implemented in Germany (3 506 MW), France (598 MW), Spain (241 MW), Finland (485 MW), Taiwan (510 MW).
Since 2023 wpd operates in Ukraine, where plans to develop green energy projects and contribute to its transition to green energy.
