GREEN ENERGY: WHAT INDUSTRY LEADERS ARE PREPARING FOR

On October 24, 2025, Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, moderated the strategic dialogue “Green Energy: What Industry Leaders Are Preparing For” held within Forbes Ukraine’s annual energy forum “Energy of Business.”

Sharing the stage were Olga Rybachuk, CEO of Elementum Energy and member of the UWEA Board, and Alina Sviderska, CEO of Scatec in Ukraine. Together, they explored the most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities for Ukraine’s renewable energy sector amid a period of transformation and recovery.

“Even during wartime, renewable energy companies continue to develop projects that can visibly support the country in times of energy crisis,” — emphasized moderator Andriy Konechenkov.

The discussion covered key issues such as:

  • the projects currently being implemented by Elementum Energy and Scatec;
  • barriers slowing sector development and the legislative changes needed to accelerate progress;
  • why renewable energy auctions have not yet become a full-fledged alternative to the feed-in tariff;
  • how the introduction of a Guarantees of Origin system could open the European market for Ukrainian producers;
  • and what the landscape of Ukraine’s green energy sector may look like by 2030.

The Forbes “Energy of Business” Forum traditionally brings together leading market players, investors, and regulators — those shaping the future of Ukraine’s energy system. Once a year, the country’s leading business publication poses a crucial question: Where do we stand today — and where are we headed tomorrow?

A sincere thank you to Forbes Ukraine for the invitation and the opportunity to moderate a dialogue that helps define Ukraine’s energy future.
