On February 19, 2026, a meeting of stakeholders of the Ukrainian Energy Initiative of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine Partners Meetup 2026 was held, which brought together industry leaders to form common tasks for the current year. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the UWEA and representatives of leading member companies of the association.
Speaking to the participants, Mr. Konechenkov emphasized that the old energy model with its huge vulnerable nodes and thousands of kilometers of open lines can no longer guarantee security. He noted that today Ukraine is building a new philosophy, where the synergy of wind generation and energy storage systems becomes the foundation of national resilience.
Forecasts for 2026 indicate further scaling of the industry, in particular, the construction of another 500-600 MW of new wind farms is expected, most of which should be put into operation within the year. Investor representatives emphasized that the main challenges remain military risks and the complexity of connecting to the grid, but the high professionalism of Ukrainian engineers allows projects to be implemented faster than in some EU countries.
